ATTORNEY PROFILE

CASEY AMAYA, ESQ. | Founding Partner

ABOUT CASEY

CA@AmpereLawFirm.com

Casey Amaya is a Founding Partner at AMPERE LAW FIRM, where she leads the Law Firm's Transactional Department. She specializes in a wide range of legal services, with a primary focus on community association law, providing strategic in-house counsel to condominiums and homeowners associations (HOAs) across Florida. In addition to her work with community associations, Casey offers legal expertise in real estate and timeshare disputes, construction matters, patent defense, lemon law, contracts, and business operations. She represents a diverse portfolio of businesses, from restaurants to nonprofits, as general counsel.

Casey’s legal career has been grounded in both academic excellence and practical experience, having worked at a law firm since the age of 17. She earned her J.D. from St. Thomas University Benjamin L. Crump College of Law, graduating Magna Cum Laude and earning a spot on the Dean’s List every semester. While in law school, she received CALI Awards for her outstanding performance in Florida Condominium Law and Florida Construction Law. She was also the President of the Student Bar Association and a two-time published author with the St. Thomas Law Review. In recognition of her academic and leadership achievements, Casey was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa and graduated Summa Cum Laude from both Miami-Dade Honors College and Florida International University Honors College, where she was selected as a Jack Kent Cooke Scholar, one of only 47 students nationwide to receive this prestigious honor. In 2023, she also graduated from the highly competitive Growing Our Leadership Diversity Program (G.O.L.D.), a program designed to develop the next generation of highly skilled lawyers.

Before founding Ampere Law Firm, Casey gained invaluable experience at Becker & Poliakoff and Bogen LG. At Becker & Poliakoff, she played a pivotal role in attending and facilitating numerous Board and Owner meetings, strengthening her expertise in community association governance. During her time at Bogen LG, Casey generated a Florida Condominium Index to assist lawyers with providing quicker and more focused services to association clients. This experience allowed her to build an in-depth understanding of Florida and Federal Statutes, equipping her to advise condominium and HOA clients on interpreting and applying these laws, managing complex community issues, resolving contract grievances, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.

Early into her career, Casey has made a name for herself by publishing legal scholarship. She has produced several articles, including Navigating New Compliance: Key Changes to Florida Condominium Board Meeting Requirements, which was featured in the Florida Community Associations Law Journal (FCALJ). In 2022, Casey revised a Maritime Manual titled Crew Claims based on the federal Jones Act which regulates Maritime Commerce. Three years later, Casey went on to co-author the book What Every Condo Owner Should Know alongside Broward County’s Mayor.

Casey is dedicated to both legal and professional communities. She currently serves as President of the STU Law Young Alumni Association and is a dedicated supporting attorney for the Honorable Peter T. Fay Inn of Court, where she mentors law students and fosters professionalism and ethical standards within the legal field. Casey is similarly committed to advancing education for homeowners and community leaders. She developed and delivered DBPR-approved presentations for the state-mandated Condominium & HOA Board Member Education Course, certifying over 200 Board Members upon completion. These courses are designed to provide board members with a comprehensive understanding of their legal duties and the tools to effectively manage their communities.

A decorated attorney, both figuratively and literally, in addition to her legal accolades, Casey is renowned for her fashion sense. She co-founded the Fashion Law Society and has since created a social media platform where she delves into the power of style and the importance of authenticity and first impressions in law.
